Madison Design Group Inc. is a full service architectural and interior design firm specializing in gaming properties, restaurants, hotels and destination resorts. The principals of our firm have had extensive involvement in the largest themed entertainment complexes in the world. Our experienced, trained staff of architects, designers, draftsmen, and interior decorators are committed to the development of aesthetically pleasing environments on time and in budget.

David Wanamaker, 7th generation Philadelphian, is recognized as a visionary designer of Hospitality and Gaming resort architecture. He helped create a proprietary casino gaming slot and pit layout software that is still a foundation of the company he heads today.

about us

David received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Temple University before continuing his Graduate studies in Architecture and Urban Design at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. His initial work involved different capacities during the very beginning of legalized gaming in Atlantic City. These included Resorts International, Bally’s and Casears. For five years, David worked for legendary casino visionary Steve Wynn, helping to develop Golden Nugget Atlantic City and Las Vegas and later the Mirage Hotel.

Wanamaker relocated to Los Angeles to lead the design team for Yates- Silverman, at the time, the largest gaming resort interior design firm in the world. While at Yates, he created the Excalibur Hotel for MGM and helped develop projects such as Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Tower, Stardust and many numerous other Hospitality resorts. Later, David was retained by Dougall Design to develop the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.

In 1991, David opened his own practice with four partners. Well over two decades later, Madison Design Group, Inc continues to service and focus specifically within the Gaming and Hospitality industry.

David is a world traveler, having been to every continent, including proudly, Antarctica. He has traveled extensively to the birthplace of Western Architecture: Egypt, Greece and Italy. Having been on the Board of the Los Angeles Conservancy, he currently is a juror at the UCLA school of Architecture and Urban Design. He continues as well to co host the annual Golden Portal Awards benefiting UCLA’s Brain Tumor program.
